The USB docking cradle has simple lines, and gives a clean appearance. Absent, however, is any type of secondary battery charging cradle. HP is now producing one cradle for all its new Pocket PCs. To use a different Pocket PC, simply change the connecting base.
In the cradle, the iPAQ has clean lines but maintains a square, boring design. It gets the job done, but its not as aesthetically pleasing as previous iPAQ devices. The back of the device is home to the large mAh Lithium-Ion user replaceable battery. Perhaps that is due in part to the touchpad at the base of the unit.
At this angle, you can see that the application buttons are flush with the touchpad, but have raised ridges to remind the user where they are. The four quick launch application buttons are from left to right : Contacts, Messaging, Calendar, and iTask. This device also supports dual function buttons, which means when they are tapped and held they can perform a completely different function. However, holding down the first quick launch application button changes to "Cursor Mode" bringing a cursor on screen and changing the touchpad navigation buttons into an actual omni directional fully featured touchpad.
This is a tremendous feature because it now allows for true one handed operation of the device, without need to remove the flip cover. The touchpad is very sensitive and makes for effortless trips across the screen with the smallest movement of the finger.
Usually, dummy cards do nothing but get on my nerves. For people who are worried about maintaining an excellent resale value on their Pocket PC, losing one of these dummy cards may drive them nuts. If the device is connected to a wireless access point, the blue LED is solid. If you have Bluetooth on, the same light becomes solid blue. The other two LEDs are used for battery charging indicators and reminders. And finally from the bottom The colors are warm and vibrant, and text is incredibly easy on the eye at VGA resolution with ClearType enabled.
The following photo was taken in a room that was completely dark to show the true color of the screen. Photographs look perfect on the screen, with no noticeable graininess. From there, HP has bundled a few invaluable business applications. Note that all screenshots were taken at the full x resolution, but are thumbnailed at x pixels. For the full screenshot, click on each thumbnail. The standard Today screen is enhanced by the higher resolution screen, making use of clearer fonts and higher quality icons.
HP has also bundled a dashboard-type program displaying remaining power, memory, storage, and backlight intensity all from the Today screen. Solitaire and Calculator are no exception. For more information, check.

In view of the fact, that actualization of the system takes place, it is impossible to use a backup utility, a creation of a complete backup of data and system and a consequent recovery after the upgrade is finished. If anyone would like to try this anyway, it is almost certain that the system will be very unstable after the recovery from the backup. We recommend full synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook for a backup of mail, calendar, contacts, tasks and notes and a backup of all documents and data at a memory card or at a PC. When the upgrade is finished, I recommend to setup the synchronization, to copy the data back and to install or setup manually all else.
